How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Development Technologist Benefits:

    Key Development Technologist Responsibilities:

    • Support the NPD Manager with new product development and launches.
    • Assist with the NPD stage-gate process and feasibility meetings.
    • Complete compliance checks, nutritional information, claims, and technical documentation.
    • Prepare accurate documentation for customer submissions.
    • Conduct product benchmarking and validation, including cooking and freeze-thaw testing.
    • Research food trends, new products, and market opportunities.
    • Support factory trials, product sampling, and successful product scale-up.
    • Maintain accurate recipes and product information on internal systems.
    • Assist with sourcing raw materials in line with customer requirements.
    • Support product costing and commercially viable development.
    • Promote food innovation and support the wider NPD agenda.
    • Assist with product quality and specification documentation.

    Development Technologist Requirements:

    Essential:
    • Food-related degree or equivalent qualification.
    • Genuine passion and enthusiasm for food, product development, and innovation.
    • Commercial awareness and an understanding of developing products to a target cost.
    • Knowledge of nutrition and the calculation of nutritional information.
    • Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internal business systems.
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider NPD and cross-functional team.

    Desired:
    • Previous experience within food product development, NPD, or a similar technical food role.
    • Experience supporting factory trials and product scale-up.
    • Knowledge of food legislation, product claims, and customer technical requirements.
    • Experience with nutritional calculation software or similar development systems
