How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Pallet Yard Person – Optimus Point

    Location: Optimus Point, Leicester, LE3 8JS

    Hours: Monday-Friday - 40 hours per week, paid breaks

    Salary: £13.10 per hour

    Contract Type: Permanent

    About the ‘ROLL’

    We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and safety focused Yard & Pallet Operative to join our operations team. This is a key role supporting pallet management, material flow, and yard organisation across the site. You will play an important part in ensuring production lines operate efficiently, hygiene standards are maintained, and finished goods move safely and effectively through the manufacturing process.

Previously known as Accrol Group and established in 1993, Navigator Tissue UK is the UK’s leading independent tissue converter, producing private label toilet roll, kitchen roll, facial tissue products and a range of wet wipes for many of the UK’s major grocery retailers. We currently have five manufacturing sites across the UK in Blackburn, Leyland, Leicester, Flint and Bridgwater. We are also in the process of moving manufacturing from Blackburn to Leyland, and from Flint and Bridgwater to Leicester.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Pallet Yard Person you will:

    · Sort, grade, repair, and store pallets in line with hygiene and quality standards.

    · Move pallets between production areas, warehouses, and loading bays.

    · Load and unload vehicles using manual handling techniques and forklift equipment.

    · Supply production lines with clean, compliant pallets and remove finished goods.

    · Support stock rotation, pallet wrapping, staging, and dispatch preparation activities.

    · Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment.

    · Ensure pallets used for tissue and wet-wipe products remain free from contamination.

    · Adhere to all PPE, hygiene, health and safety procedures.

    · Report damaged pallets, equipment faults, and unsafe conditions promptly.

    · Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other yard equipment safely and effectively.

    · Carry out routine equipment checks and complete relevant paperwork or digital records.

    · Support compliance with BRC, ISO, and other manufacturing quality standards.

    Essential Requirements

    · Valid FLT Licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck).

    · Strong commitment to health and safety, hygiene, and quality standards.

    · Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across production and warehouse teams.

    · Excellent attention to detail, particularly when inspecting pallets for contamination, damage, or defects.

    · Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a busy operational environment.
