How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Wandsworth Secondary SchoolWe are currently working with a secondary school in Wandsworth who are looking for a HR Officer to join their school on a full-time basis from September 2026.

    The Role

     You will be responsible for providing support in the various human resources and functions, which include recruitment, staffing, policies and procedures, performance monitoring and payroll processing. This opportunity will suit someone who is passionate about HR and highly organised. Ideally, you will have knowledge of various HR functions. The school want to see a committed and approachable individual.

    Key Duties:

    Key link to the principal for staff recruitment, maintenance of Personnel information (Arbor), HR operational procedures, i.e., sickness absence recording and monitoring for whole staff body
    To perform all payroll administration on payroll portal including monthly checking of report and submitting staff additional hours claims to third party provider deadlines.
    To administer the whole recruitment process following Safer Recruiting guidelines including placing advertisements, circulating recruitment packs, organising the interview timetable and compiling interview packs
    Conduct all new starter recruitment checks and compliance ahead of start dates and following up on missing information with individual or third parties
    Issue Offer Letters and Contracts as agreed by Interview Panel Lead and associated employment documentation.
    Organise for new starters to have an induction and where appropriate ensure that probation meeting plans are in place and all administrative documentation are available and subsequently filed appropriately. On-going support should also be given in terms of reminders to line managers.
    Under instruction from the principal, to administer any contract changes i.e. change of role, change of hours/working pattern ensuring that individual’s personnel record reflect this accordingly.
    Under the guidance of the SBM Provide advice and start to end support to line managers, SLT and Principals on all HR issues including but not limited to: TUPE, grievances, disciplinary cases, dismissals, redundancies, maternity/paternity conditions, contractual and job description changes, sickness absence management and capability procedures
    Supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
    Providing advice on new policies and procedures
    To make effective use of relevant ICT software to log information ensuring that staff records are kept up to date. 

    Providing support to line managers who administer sickness absence meetings and manage accurate absence records and produce reports as required for individual and whole school monitoring.
    To ensure that the Single Central Record (SCR) is maintained by updating when required and to produce regular reports to be reviewed and signed by designated key personnel so as can be available for inspection by SLT, Governors, Ofsted
    Work with the Data Manager to ensure that the annual School Workforce Return (SWR) is accurate for staff and uploaded within the required timeframe.
    To provide minute taking services as appropriate for meetings, disciplinary hearings and maintain confidentially at all times.
    To assist with the management of all visitor’s entry and exit procedures, as required to comply with safe guarding.
    To keep up to date with changing school information and maintaining key information for reference as necessaryAbout The School
