How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    VEHICLE TECHNICIAN
    Location: Swindon
    Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Basic Salary | OTE £38,000 + Bonus
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 5:15pm | No Weekend Working

    THE ROLE
    As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles to the highest standards while ensuring excellent workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair work
    ·Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
    ·Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional work where appropriate
    ·Carrying out routine inspections and manufacturer-scheduled servicing
    ·Completing repairs in line with manufacturer standards and workshop procedures
    ·Accurately completing job cards, service records, and workshop documentation
    ·Working collaboratively with the workshop team to maximise productivity and efficiency
    ·Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard
     
    ABOUT YOU
    We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
    ·NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
    ·Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician, or Automotive Mechanic
    ·Experience gained within a dealership, independent garage, or automotive workshop
    ·Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and repair skills
    ·Good mechanical and electrical knowledge
    ·Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
    ·A positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
    ·Full UK Manual Driving Licence
    Alternative job titles may include: Vehicle Technician, Service Technician, Automotive Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Vehicle Mechanic or Car Mechanic.
