How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Near Basingstoke
    💼 Contract: Part-time, Term-time Only
    🕓 Hours: Monday–Friday, 1:15pm–3:15pm (10 hours per week)
    📅 Start Date: September 2026
    💰 Pay: £13.00–£17.00 per hour

    🏫 About the School
    A friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school near Basingstoke is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Graduate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a pupil with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and high sensory needs.

    Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will help the pupil access learning, develop communication skills and feel confident within the classroom.
     
    🎯 The Role
    As a Graduate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

    Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil during afternoon lessons.
    Support a child with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and high sensory needs.
    Use sensory strategies to help the pupil regulate, engage and participate in learning.
    Encourage communication, confidence, independence and positive social interaction.
    Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support strategies.
    Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil and celebrate their progress. 
    👤 Person Specification
    We're looking for someone who is:

    A graduate in Psychology, Education, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Health & Social Care, or a related subject (desirable).
    Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
    Patient, calm and nurturing.
    Keen to build experience within SEN and child development.
    Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
