Our client is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Manager to lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, driving supplier performance, containment activities and quality improvements across a complex, low-volume manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on quality professional with strong leadership experience within the automotive sector.
Supplier Quality Manager Position Overview
Lead, mentor and develop a team of Supplier Quality Engineers.
Manage supplier containment, controlled shipping (CSL1/CSL2) and supplier recovery activities.
Act as the escalation point for critical supplier quality issues.
Ensure robust containment plans are implemented to protect production.
Drive supplier corrective actions using 8D, 5 Whys and structured problem-solving techniques.
Monitor supplier KPIs including PPM, quality escapes and corrective action performance.
Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Programme teams to minimise disruption.
Provide regular reporting on supplier performance and recovery plans.
Support supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Supplier Quality Manager Position Requirements
Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
7+ years' experience within Supplier Quality, Supplier Development or Supplier Quality Assurance.
Previous experience managing or leading Supplier Quality teams.
Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, GD&T, 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
Experience managing supplier containment and recovery activities including CSL1 & CSL2.
Background within Automotive, Motorsport, OEM, Tier 1 or advanced manufacturing.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
