How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing residential care team.

    *

Monitor budgets and ensure the home operates efficiently.

    *

Build positive relationships with families, local authorities, and external agencies.

    *

Drive continuous improvement with the aim of achieving and maintaining Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.

    What We're Looking For

    *

Experience as a Registered Children's Home Manager, Deputy Manager, or in a senior leadership role within children's residential care.

    *

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it).

    *

Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding legislation.

    *

Proven leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.

    *

    Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

    *

    A full UK driving licence.

    What's on Offer

✅ Competitive salary with performance bonus
    ✅ Generous annual leave entitlement
✅ Ongoing professional development and funded training
    ✅ Clear career progression opportunities
    ✅ Supportive senior leadership team
✅ Pension scheme and additional employee benefits
✅ The opportunity to make a genuine, lasting impact on the lives of children and young people

    Why Join Us?

This is more than a management role—it's an opportunity to lead a home where children feel safe, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential. You'll have the autonomy to shape the service, develop your team, and make a meaningful difference every single day.
