How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant - Newbury, Berkshire (RG20) Are you a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs?
    We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Newbury area (RG20). This rewarding role will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) who is joining the school and will require assistance in settling into their new environment, building confidence, and accessing learning opportunities throughout the school day.
    The Role This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a child's educational journey.

    Mornings: Support the wider Early Years classroom, working alongside the class teacher to assist all pupils with learning activities, classroom routines, and engagement.
    Afternoons: Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with autism, helping them adjust to their new school environment, develop positive relationships, and access learning in a way that meets their individual needs.
    Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff team to implement tailored support strategies.
    Encourage social interaction, emotional regulation, independence, and participation in both structured and play-based learning activities.
    Monitor progress and contribute to observations and feedback where required.The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who:

    Has experience working with children in an Early Years or Primary School setting.
    Has experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), or other additional learning needs.
    Is patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with children.
    Understands the importance of consistency, routine, and positive behaviour support.
    Is proactive, flexible, and able to adapt to the individual needs of the child.
    Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and parents.We Offer
