How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Intelligence Analyst | Peterborough (Hybrid) | 🕐 Full-time | 🌍 Global Organisation
    Turn data into insight that drives global impact
    Are you a data-driven analyst who thrives on turning complex datasets into meaningful insights that influence business decisions? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Data Analytics team at CIPS.
    This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping how data is used across a global organisation, supporting performance, decision-making and continuous improvement.
    About us
    The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is the world’s leading professional body for procurement and supply, with over 70,000 members worldwide. With a Royal Charter, we’re driven by a clear purpose: to raise standards, build capability, and support ethical, high-performing supply chain professionals globally.
    What you’ll be doing
    In this role, you’ll help deliver reliable, easy-to-understand reporting that supports teams across CIPS to better understand performance and make informed decisions. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, Business Analysts and data colleagues, you’ll develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, bringing together data from different sources into clear and useful insights.
    You’ll support reporting across a range of areas such as membership, events, training and commercial activity, helping identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
    You’ll also help maintain datasets and reporting environments, contributing to data accuracy, consistency and good governance. Part of your role will involve investigating and resolving reporting issues, supporting data validation and helping to improve data quality. As we continue to develop our data capabilities, you’ll also contribute to the use of tools such as Microsoft Fabric and AI-enabled analytics, supporting their safe and effective use.
    You’ll also support colleagues across the organisation in building confidence with Power BI, helping them understand reports, explore data and make the most of self-service reporting.
    What we’re looking for
    You’ll bring experience in Power BI development, including creating reports, dashboards and datasets that help others understand and use data effectively. You’ll be comfortable working with data modelling, DAX, Power Query and SQL, and able to turn business needs into clear and meaningful reporting solutions.
    You’ll also have a strong analytical approach, with the ability to check, validate and troubleshoot data to support accuracy and reliability. Alongside your technical skills, you’ll be able to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, supporting colleagues of all backgrounds and levels of experience to confidently engage with data.
    What you’ll get – an array of benefits, including:
    * 25 days holiday + bank holidays
    * Private medical insurance (BUPA)
    * Pension scheme
    * Life assurance (4x salary)
    * Bonus scheme (non-contractual)
    * On-site restaurant and other great facilities including a gym.
    Why join CIPS?
    At CIPS, you’ll be part of a globally connected organisation where your work directly supports better decision-making and performance across the business.
    You’ll join a supportive and collaborative team environment, where different perspectives are valued and there are opportunities to learn, develop and grow your skills.
    Ready to apply? If you’re interested in using your data skills to make a positive impact in a global organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
    Apply now with your CV and a short covering letter telling us what excites you about the role and what you’ll bring to the team.
    We can’t wait to hear from you
