How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Analyse laboratory data and identify trends or potential issues.
Ensure corrective actions are taken when warning or control limits are reached.
Investigate test failures, non-conformances, and process deviations.
Review and approve external testing certificates and supplier documentation.
Maintain effective stock control of laboratory consumables and chemicals.
Create, review, and update laboratory procedures, work instructions, and documentation.
Support qualification and validation activities for new processes and customer requirements.
Conduct COSHH assessments and promote safe working practices.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including titration systems and corrosion testing equipment.
Provide technical support to production and quality teams.
Support internal and external audits, including customer and accreditation audits.
Assist with hands-on testing and provide cover within the laboratory team when required.
    About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

Experience within a laboratory environment, ideally within surface treatment, chemical processing, coatings, or manufacturing.
A strong understanding of chemical analysis techniques.
Experience working safely with hazardous chemicals, acids, and alkalis.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments.
    Desirable Experience

A-Level, HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
Experience within aerospace, engineering, or highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
Familiarity with NADCAP requirements, particularly AC7108.
Experience supporting internal and external audits.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements within a laboratory setting.
