How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Role

    As Structural Steel Project Manager, you will take full ownership of the successful delivery of major construction work packages and projects. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

    You will act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, lead multidisciplinary project teams and drive performance across safety, commercial, programme, quality and people.

    This is a senior leadership position offering significant responsibility and the opportunity to influence project outcomes, contribute to business performance and work on technically challenging and high-profile projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead project delivery across safety, programme, cost, quality and people
    • Act as the primary company representative and key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
    • Establish and lead high-performing multidisciplinary project teams
    • Develop, manage and monitor construction programmes
    • Drive project performance and ensure key milestones are achieved
    • Ensure all works are delivered in line with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards
    • Oversee Risk Assessments, Method Statements and safe systems of work
    • Manage project budgets, costs and commercial performance
    • Identify opportunities for value engineering, efficiency and cost optimisation
    • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
    • Lead site operations and labour coordination where required
    • Manage project documentation, reporting and client communications
    • Identify and communicate project risks, variations and opportunities
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
    • Support tendering and work-winning activities when required
    • Drive innovation, continuous improvement and best practice across projects
    • Coach and develop team members to support performance and career progression

    The Ideal Candidate

    • Proven experience working as a Project Manager within a construction or engineering environment
    • Strong background in Structural Steel or a closely related discipline
    • Good knowledge of construction processes, standards, methods and regulations
    • Experience working with multidisciplinary interfaces, temporary works and lifting solutions
    • Relevant CSCS card at the appropriate level
    • Professional membership or equivalent experience would be advantageous
    • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams
    • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
    • Good understanding of NEC4 contracts, including notifiable events
    • Experience with Works Information and procurement processes
    • Excellent organisational and planning skills
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Experience using Microsoft Office, project reporting tools and document control systems
    • Familiarity with CEMAR would be advantageous
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
    • Commitment to quality, continuous improvement and delivering excellent project outcomes
