The Role of the HGV Auto Electrician / PSV Auto Electrician
Working in a highly equipped, modern depot, your day-to-day will focus heavily on complex electrical systems:
Diagnosing and carrying out vehicle electrical repairs, routine servicing, and parts replacement.
Diagnosing complex vehicle electrical faults and specifying the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
Utilising advanced diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot fleet issues.
Conducting vehicle road testing to identify specific defects or sign off on repairs.
Ensuring full compliance with health and safety (HSE) guidelines and standard operating procedures.
What You Need as HGV Auto Electrician / PSV Auto Electrician
NVQ / SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, Auto Electrics, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Strong electrically biased experience with proven fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.
Experience working on heavy commercial vehicles (HGV/PCV) is highly preferred, but we welcome skilled electrical engineers from light commercial or military backgrounds looking to transition.Valid UK driving licence. (A PCV licence is a bonus, but the company will fully support and fund you to achieve this!).
