How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    1st / 2nd Line IT Support Engineer – Contract

    Location: Bradford – fully on-site
Rate: Up to £225 per day, dependent on experience
    Contract: Initial three months
    IR35 status: Inside IR35
    Start date: Immediate

We are recruiting an experienced 1st / 2nd Line IT Support Engineer for an established consumer goods business based in Bradford. Employing several hundred people, the company requires additional support within its small, hands-on IT team during a busy period.

This is a fully on-site contract role, initially for three months, and would suit someone who is practical, approachable and comfortable taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution.

    What you’ll be doing:

    * Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to users across the business

    * Troubleshooting hardware, software, network and access-related issues

    * Resolving problems remotely using the Atera remote monitoring and management platform

    * Managing user accounts, permissions and access within Microsoft 365 and Active Directory

    * Building, configuring and deploying PCs, laptops and other devices

    * Supporting the onboarding of new starters and processing leavers

    * Installing and maintaining applications, printers and peripheral equipment

    * Carrying out routine maintenance, patching, monitoring and general system checks

    * Escalating more complex technical issues where appropriate

    * Maintaining accurate support records and keeping users updated on progress

    * Helping the wider IT team with general infrastructure and support activities as required

    What we’re looking for:

    * Previous experience in an IT support, helpdesk, desktop support or service desk role

    * Confidence supporting Windows-based environments

    * Practical experience of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory

    * Good knowledge of PC and laptop builds, configuration and deployment

    * Experience using remote support or monitoring tools; knowledge of Atera would be beneficial

    * A strong customer-service approach and the ability to communicate clearly with users at all levels

    * Someone who takes ownership, works through problems methodically and sees issues through to resolution

    * A flexible, hands-on attitude and the ability to work effectively within a small IT team

    * Availability to start at short notice

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Bradford business and make an immediate contribution to its day-to-day IT support operation.

Please apply with an up-to-date CV and details of your availability
