How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Site Agent - Water Infrastructure (Southern Water / South East Water)

    Location: South East England
    Salary: Up to £75,000 + Company Car/Car Allowance + Comprehensive Benefits Package (flexibility available for the right candidate)

    An established civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation in the UK infrastructure sector is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Agent to support the delivery of major water infrastructure projects across Southern Water and South East Water frameworks.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with a healthy pipeline of secured work, delivering a diverse range of clean water, wastewater and civil engineering schemes.

    The Role

    As a Senior Site Agent, you'll take ownership of the safe, profitable and successful delivery of multiple projects or complex work packages, ensuring programme, quality and commercial objectives are achieved while maintaining excellent client relationships.

    You'll work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams and subcontractors to drive project performance from pre-construction through to completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
    Manage site teams, Sub Agents, Site Engineers and subcontractors.
    Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
    Oversee programme planning, resource allocation and project sequencing.
    Maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
    Manage client relationships and attend progress meetings.
    Support commercial performance, change management and cost control.
    Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture across all projects.

    About You

    Proven experience working as a Senior Site Agent, Site Agent or experienced Sub Agent within civil engineering.
    Previous experience delivering projects for Southern Water, South East Water or other UK water frameworks is highly desirable.
    Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
    Experience managing multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
    Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
    SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
    HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
