How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We're recruiting for a Mechanical Development Engineer to join a growing engineering business near Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded engineer looking to take the next step in their career and become involved in the full product development lifecycle.

    Working within a collaborative R&D environment, you'll contribute to the design, analysis, development, and testing of innovative products used in demanding applications. The role offers plenty of variety and would suit someone who enjoys combining practical engineering with detailed design and engineering calculations.

    As a Mechanical Development Engineer, you'll work closely with experienced engineers whilst taking ownership of your own projects and technical tasks.

    Mechanical Development Engineer - Responsibilities

    Produce mechanical designs and engineering drawings using 3D CAD.
    Perform engineering calculations to support product development activities.
    Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and design improvements.
    Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
    Work with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective to produce.
    Assist with product development projects from concept through to release.
    Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement activities.
    Mechanical Development Engineer - Skills & Experience

    Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
    Experience using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Creo, or similar.
    Ability to perform mechanical engineering calculations and interpret engineering data.
    Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacture.
    Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
    Experience working within a product development, R&D, or manufacturing environment.
