How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently recruiting for a Materials Controller to join a busy construction site team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in construction who is looking to develop their career and progress into Assistant Site Management and eventually Site Management.

    Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will gain valuable hands-on experience across site operations, logistics, health & safety, quality control and programme delivery.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Managing the coordination and tracking of materials across site.

    * Checking deliveries, maintaining stock records and ensuring materials are stored correctly.

    * Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to ensure materials are available when required.

    * Supporting the Site Manager with daily site operations and organisation.

    * Monitoring material usage and reporting shortages or delays.

    * Assisting with site housekeeping, logistics and general site duties.

    * Carrying out some labouring duties when required to support the wider site team.

    * Helping maintain a safe, tidy and efficient working environment.

    * Gaining exposure to site management responsibilities with a view to career progression.

    Requirements:

    * Previous experience working on a construction site (materials, labouring, logistics or general site operations).

    * Valid CSCS Card.

    * Good understanding of construction processes and site environments.

    * Strong organisational skills and a willingness to learn.

    * Reliable, hardworking and keen to progress within the construction industry.

    This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in construction management. You will work alongside experienced site professionals, gaining the knowledge and experience required to progress into an Assistant Site Manager position and ultimately Site Manager.
