How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A Quality Engineer is sought a precision engineering & manufacturing business who design & manufacture an innovate range of products for global export.
    Quality Engineer 
    Salary: £35000 + benefits
    Location: Hull
    This is an interesting and varied responsibility to work for a business that design and manufacture precision technology which is exported globally. 
    Duties:
    o Co-ordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints to enable a full understanding of the real root cause failure and corrective actions
    o Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of any corrective actions taken to eliminate Supplier or Customer complaints.
    o Accountable for production quality issues – component inspection, corrective action, risk assessment and problem resolution.
    o Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or any other relevant technique to support continuous improvement.
    o Provide guidance to the shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost saving techniques.
    Experience:
    Applications are sought from experienced Quality Engineers with significant knowledge of production quality control and new product introduction gained within a precision engineering environment.
    o Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline
    o Measurement & inspection of components and complete assemblies
    o Structure problem solving skills – 8D, 5Y, A3, PPS
    o Read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T
    o Able to utilise metrology equipment - CMM and manual measuring tools
    o Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques
    o Familiar with close tolerance engineering and manufacturing processes
    o Internal auditor experience desirable
    o Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.
