How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor – Tier 1 Main Contractor (Commercial, Healthcare & Leisure) – Central London

    Salary/Package: £75,000 – £100,000 DOE + Company Car/Car Allowance + 8% Pension + Private Healthcare + Life Assurance + 28 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays + 1 Volunteering Day + Professional Development + Flexible Benefits

    O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a major Tier 1 main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their established London commercial team, based from their modern Central London office within walking distance of Bank Station.

    With an annual turnover of circa £1bn and a strong track record of sustained profitability, this contractor has built an outstanding reputation for delivering some of London's most prestigious and technically challenging projects across the commercial, healthcare and leisure sectors.

    They are open-minded regarding your previous project experience, although exposure to commercial, healthcare or leisure schemes would be advantageous. Experience supporting projects through the pre-construction phase would also be beneficial, although this is by no means essential.

    Role Overview

    Title: Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor

    Salary: £75,000 – £100,000 DOE + Comprehensive Package

    Type: Permanent

    Responsibilities

    Commercial management of MEP subcontract packages from procurement through to final account.
    Preparing subcontract enquiries, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations for award.
    Managing subcontractor valuations, payments, variations and final accounts.
    Producing accurate cost reporting, CVRs, forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
    Working closely with operational, design and pre-construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
    Identifying commercial risks and opportunities while maintaining effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
    Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain.
    Supporting pre-construction activities where required, including procurement strategy and cost planning.
    Requirements

    Previous experience working as an MEP Quantity Surveyor or Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
    Strong commercial understanding of mechanical and electrical packages.
    Experience delivering projects within the commercial, healthcare or leisure sectors would be advantageous, although other project backgrounds will also be considered.
    Exposure to pre-construction activities would be beneficial but is not essential.
    Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills.
    Able and willing to commute to Central London.
