How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially focused Key Account Manager to join our Distribution team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in growing the Society's mortgage business by developing strong relationships across the intermediary market.

    As the face of the Society within your territory, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with mortgage brokers, packagers and mortgage clubs, promoting our products and service proposition, and identifying opportunities to generate high-quality mortgage business.

    Working closely with internal stakeholders across Lending, Product, Marketing and Operations, you will help shape and deliver initiatives that support the Society's strategic objectives while ensuring intermediaries receive an exceptional service experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and manage relationships with mortgage intermediaries across your region.
    Generate new mortgage business in line with the Society's growth objectives.
    Promote the Society's products, lending criteria and service proposition to the intermediary market.
    Identify and secure new business opportunities through prospecting, networking and relationship development.
    Maintain a strong understanding of the Society's mortgage lending policy and confidently support intermediaries with policy-related enquiries.
    Develop and deliver regional business plans to increase intermediary reach, depth and market share.
    Collaborate with internal teams to support campaigns, product launches and business initiatives.
    Represent the Society at broker events, roadshows, exhibitions and industry forums.
    Monitor market activity, competitor developments and industry trends, providing insight and recommendations to support the Society's strategic goals.
    Act as a professional ambassador for the Society, enhancing brand awareness and reputation within the market.What we're looking for

    Proven experience within the mortgage intermediary market.
    Strong relationship management and business development skills.
    A sound understanding of mortgage lending and underwriting principles.
    Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
    Commercial awareness and the ability to identify growth opportunities.
    Strong analytical and planning capabilities.
    The ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
    A proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on delivering results.
    A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.What Success Looks Like
