How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an opportunity to become part of a supportive team where you'll build meaningful relationships, promote independence and help young people overcome challenges while reaching their full potential.

Whether you already have experience in residential childcare or are looking to build a long-term career within children's services, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Role

As a Children's Support Worker, you'll provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people within a safe, nurturing and structured home environment.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.

    * Supporting daily routines, education, appointments and recreational activities.

    * Promoting emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.

    * Acting as a positive role model and encouraging healthy choices.

    * Supporting young people to develop practical life skills.

    * Maintaining accurate daily records, reports and key work documentation.

    * Supporting young people through challenging situations using a calm, trauma-informed approach.

    About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people.

    You'll ideally have:

    * Experience working with children and young people in residential care, supported accommodation, education or a similar setting.

    * A caring, resilient and patient approach.

    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    * The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations positively.

    * Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.

    * Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

    * Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it) is desirable.

    * Full UK driving licence is desirable.

    What You'll Receive

    * £14.25 - £15.50 per hour.

    * Sleep-in payments.

    * Comprehensive induction and ongoing training.

    * Opportunities to gain recognised qualifications.

    * Regular supervision and continued professional development.

    * Clear career progression into Senior Support Worker and leadership roles.

    * A supportive management team that invests in your development.

    Why Join Us?

Every day is different, but every day matters.

You'll play a vital role in helping children and young people feel safe, valued and supported while empowering them to build brighter futures. If you're looking for a rewarding career where you can genuinely change lives, we'd love to hear from you.
