How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Summary

    We are seeking an energetic and proactive Commercial Manager specializing in Groundworks and Civil Engineering to lead and oversee commercial activities within our construction projects. In this pivotal role, you will drive project profitability, manage client relationships, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with project teams to ensure seamless delivery. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering strong stakeholder engagement, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.     Responsibilities

    * Lead the preparation and review of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts to maximize profitability.

    * Negotiate terms and contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to secure favorable agreements.

    * Oversee the management of project schedules using tools like Microsoft Project to ensure timely completion of groundworks and civil works.

    * Coordinate with project teams to monitor progress, manage risks, and resolve issues promptly through effective communication and leadership.

    * Develop and implement organizational strategies for resource allocation, procurement, and subcontractor management.

    * Maintain comprehensive documentation of contractual changes, variations, claims, and progress reports using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.

    * Foster strong relationships with clients through transparent communication, ensuring their needs are met while aligning with project objectives.

    * Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies throughout all phases of the project.

    Experience

    * Proven experience in managing commercial aspects of groundworks or civil engineering projects within the construction industry.

    * Demonstrated management skills with a track record of leading multidisciplinary teams effectively.

    * Strong negotiation skills to secure advantageous contract terms while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.

    * Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project; excellent organizational skills for multitasking across multiple projects.

    * Solid understanding of construction processes, technical specifications, and relevant regulations.

    * Exceptional communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

    * Valid driving license preferred for site visits and client meetings; IT literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel is essential.
