How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What you’ll be doing:

Leading procurement, financial forecasting, budget management and capital planning activities.
Developing and embedding robust programme governance, technical assurance and gateway review processes.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, consultants and delivery partners to ensure successful programme execution.
Championing engineering excellence, asset optimisation and technical innovation across the capital delivery function.
Ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and health & safety requirements, including CDM Regulations.
Supporting the organisation’s long-term strategic objectives, including sustainability and net zero ambitions.

    We’re looking for someone with:

Extensive experience leading complex capital programmes within utilities, infrastructure, power, transportation or a similar asset-intensive sector.
A proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects through multidisciplinary teams and external delivery partners.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in capital investment planning, forecasting and budget management.
Experience developing programme governance frameworks, technical assurance processes and delivery standards.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
A degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered status with a relevant professional institution and a recognised programme or project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent).

    What’s on offer?

    * A genuine opportunity to shape the future of capital investment for a major utilities business.

    * Executive-level responsibility with significant influence across engineering, operations and strategic delivery.

    * The chance to lead large-scale infrastructure programmes that will have a lasting impact on customers and communities.

    * A collaborative senior leadership team committed to innovation, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

    * Competitive executive salary and benefits package.

If you’re an experienced infrastructure leader looking for an opportunity to drive transformational capital programmes and lead high-performing delivery teams, we’d love to hear from you
