Due to continued investment and expansion, they are seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment, solving technical challenges, and playing a vital role in keeping manufacturing operations running efficiently.
The RoleAs a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a variety of packaging production machinery and equipment. You'll work as part of a proactive engineering team, ensuring maximum machine availability while supporting continuous improvement projects across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on packaging and production machinery.
Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor and automated production systems.
Support machinery installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
Work closely with production teams to maximise efficiency and output.
Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately.
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
Contribute to improving reliability, performance and overall plant efficiency.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, plastics, food, recycling or production environment.
Strong fault-finding skills across both mechanical and electrical systems.
Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and automated machinery.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
A proactive and hands-on approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
Engineering qualifications (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent) are desirable.
