How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, an innovative and rapidly growing business within the Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) sector, is seeking an experienced Lead Python Developer to play a key role in shaping the future of their technology and data platforms.

    This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected organisation operating at the intersection of technology, data and financial markets. You'll lead the design and delivery of business-critical solutions while working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leading the design and development of scalable data platforms and applications
    Building and optimising Python-based solutions and automation tools
    Developing and maintaining PostgreSQL databases and data models
    Delivering Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Data Flow solutions
    Creating insightful Power BI dashboards and reporting capabilities
    Driving technical best practice across development teams
    Mentoring developers and providing technical leadership
    Collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions
    Supporting the adoption of AI technologies including Microsoft Copilot and other productivity tools
    Integrating financial and market data into internal systems and reporting platforms

    Job Requirements:

    Proven experience in a Lead Developer, Technical Lead or Principal Developer role
    Strong Python development experience
    Expert-level PostgreSQL knowledge
    Azure Data Factory experience
    Strong Power BI capabilities
    Experience building data pipelines and reporting solutions
    Strong stakeholder management and Business Analysis skills
    SharePoint experience
    Financial Services, Asset Management, ETF, FinTech or Capital Markets experience
