Location: Basildon, Essex. Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 (DoE - More junior people very much considered!) plus benefits package. Working arrangement: hybrid, 2 to 3 days in the office per week.
What you'll be doing
Specify, source and procure off-the-shelf IoT devices, sensors and hardware systems that meet product requirements
Design and run DVT/PVT testing protocols to validate smart technologies under real-world conditions
Troubleshoot integration issues across physical, electronic and data interfaces
Act as the technical point of contact for hardware suppliers, test labs and manufacturing vendors
Track integration milestones, timelines and risks using tools like Jira, Trello or Excel
Maintain accurate validation logs, schematics and component specification sheets
What you need to bring
A degree in Electrical, Electronic, Systems or Mechanical engineering, or equivalent practical experience with IoT devices, electrical &/or embedded systems.
Proven experience testing, validating and debugging hardware, sensors or connected devices
Practical knowledge of wireless protocols such as BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa or cellular
Experience specifying and procuring off-the-shelf electronic components
Familiarity with compliance standards (CE/UKCA, FCC, IP ratings) or CAD tools like SolidWorks (desirable)
