We're looking for a highly organised and motivated Assistant Buyer to join our Procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity to build your career with a respected construction company delivering high-profile residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects across the UK.

Working alongside experienced Buyers and the wider Commercial team, you'll play a key role in ensuring materials, plant, and subcontract services are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Buyers with the procurement of construction materials, plant, and subcontract packages.
Obtain and compare supplier quotations to achieve the best value.
Raise purchase orders and ensure they are processed accurately and on time.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Monitor delivery schedules and resolve any supply issues proactively.
Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information.
Assist with supplier performance reviews and cost analysis.
Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Support sustainability and value engineering initiatives where appropriate.About You:

You'll be an organised individual with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail. Whether you're already working in a buying role or looking to progress from an administrative or commercial support position within construction, you'll thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, buying, or commercial support role.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable
Experience within the construction, house building, or civil engineering sector.
Knowledge of procurement systems or ERP software.
Understanding of construction materials and supply chains.
Working towards or interested in studying for CIPS qualifications.What We Offer:
