How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Join a British Engineering Business Where Precision Matters

    There are engineering companies... and then there are businesses that quietly keep British industry moving.

    Consulo is working exlusively with one of the UK's most respected privately owned precision engineering manufacturers, with decades of expertise designing, manufacturing and refurbishing high-value engineered components for some of the world's most demanding industries. From power generation and energy through to heavy industrial manufacturing and critical rotating equipment applications, they have built an enviable reputation for technical excellence, quality and reliability.

    Operating from a modern manufacturing facility in the North West, with international partnerships supporting customers around the globe, this is a business that continues to invest in its people, technology and long-term growth.

    Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer / Project Manager who can become a key part of their engineering and commercial team.

    This is a varied, customer-facing role where no two days are the same. You'll take ownership of engineering projects from initial enquiry through quotation, manufacturing and final delivery, acting as the link between customers, suppliers, engineering and production.

    If you enjoy solving technical problems, managing multiple projects and working within a highly skilled manufacturing environment, this represents an outstanding opportunity to join a genuinely respected British engineering business.

    The Role

    You'll be responsible for coordinating customer projects from concept through to completion, ensuring technical requirements, commercial expectations and delivery schedules are achieved.

    Working alongside experienced manufacturing engineers, production teams and commercial colleagues, you will:

    * Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously from enquiry through to delivery.

    * Review customer specifications, drawings and technical documentation.

    * Liaise with customers to fully understand project requirements and provide technical support.

    * Work closely with estimating, manufacturing and production teams to develop accurate quotations and delivery plans.

    * Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors and procurement activities.

    * Monitor project progress, identify risks and resolve technical issues.

    * Build long-term relationships with customers through proactive communication and exceptional service.

    * Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.

    * Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and project delivery.

    About You

    We're looking for an experienced engineering professional who combines strong technical ability with excellent project management and customer-facing skills.

    Ideally you will have:

    * Previous experience as a Project Engineer, Project Manager or Technical Project Engineer.

    * A Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC, HND or Degree preferred).

    * Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.

    * The ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.

    * Excellent organisational and communication skills.

    * Strong commercial awareness with the confidence to liaise directly with customers.

    * Experience coordinating engineering, production and supply chain activities.

    * A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving ability.

    Highly Desirable Backgrounds

    Applications are particularly welcomed from engineers with experience in industries involving rotating equipment or associated mechanical power transmission technologies, including:

    * Bearings

    * Pumps

    * Compressors

    * Gearboxes & Gearmotors

    * Couplings

    * Motors

    Why Apply?

    This is an opportunity to join a business that genuinely values engineering expertise.

    You'll work alongside experienced professionals on technically challenging projects that support some of Britain's most important industrial sectors. The company offers long-term career stability, ongoing professional development and the opportunity to play a visible role within a growing engineering organisation that continues to invest in UK manufacturing.

    If you're an experienced Project Engineer or Project Manager looking to join a business where engineering quality, customer relationships and technical excellence remain at the heart of everything they do, we'd love to hear from you
