How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Design Manager / Senior Project Manager

    London | Permanent | Full-Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Design Manager / Senior Project Manager to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy and play a pivotal role in the delivery of a major healthcare development in London.

This role requires a highly capable project leader with a proven track record of operating within NEC3 or NEC4 contractual environments, and the ability to take full ownership of design management, programme performance, commercial governance and contractual compliance across a large-scale, technically complex programme.

We are seeking someone who brings substantial senior-level experience, not only in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, but in leading them, driving commercial outcomes, and confidently managing the contractual and programme responsibilities that sit at the heart of this role.

    The Opportunity

The successful candidate will provide direction across multiple workstreams, acting as a key interface between design teams, client representatives and project stakeholders.

A thorough understanding of NEC contracts is essential, with the capability to manage Early Warnings, Compensation Events, change control processes and contractual notifications with clarity and authority. Candidates with experience limited to coordination or package management will not meet the seniority required for this role.

    About You

We are looking for a candidate who brings more than coordination experience, someone who has demonstrably led complex teams, owned commercial outcomes and operated confidently within structured NEC environments.

    * Proven experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering or large-scale building projects.

    * Minimum of five years’ practical NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract management experience, with clear examples of applying commercial and contractual processes.

    * Strong understanding of contract administration, change management and commercial governance.

    * NEC accreditation or formal NEC training is highly advantageous.

    * Degree qualified in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.

    * Strong commercial awareness and financial management capability, with the ability to articulate commercial decisions clearly and concisely.

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

    * Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.

    * Comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams and driving clarity across complex programmes.

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

    * Experience using project planning software such as Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is beneficial.

    What’s on Offer

    * Opportunity to lead the delivery of a flagship healthcare project.

    * Exposure to complex, high-value programmes within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

    * Structured professional development, mentoring and ongoing training opportunities.

    * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    * Private healthcare, life assurance and wellbeing support.

    * Flexible benefits and enhanced family-friendly policies.

    * A collaborative and inclusive culture focused on career progression and long-term development.

    * Access to social, charitable and wellbeing initiatives throughout the year.

    Who This Role Suits

This position is ideal for a Senior Design Manager, Senior Project Manager, Project Controls Manager or NEC Contract Specialist with a strong commercial and leadership track record
