How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    THE ROLE
    As a Commercial Vehicle Damage Assessor, you'll play a key role in accurately assessing vehicle damage, preparing repair estimates and ensuring repairs are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with technicians, customers and insurers to keep repairs progressing smoothly.

    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Inspect and assess accident-damaged commercial vehicles.
    ·Prepare accurate repair estimates using industry-approved estimating systems.
    ·Identify repair methods and parts required to complete repairs efficiently.
    ·Liaise with technicians throughout the repair process to monitor progress.
    ·Communicate with customers, insurers and third parties where required.
    ·Ensure all estimates comply with manufacturer and insurance standards.
    ·Maintain accurate documentation and repair records.
    ·Support the team in delivering high-quality repairs within agreed timescales.

    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for someone with previous experience in commercial vehicle estimating who enjoys working in a fast-paced Bodyshop environment and takes pride in delivering accurate assessments.

    You will ideally have:
    ·Previous experience as a Commercial Vehicle Damage Assessor, HGV Vehicle Damage Assessor, Commercial Estimator or Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA).
    ·Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle repair methods and estimating procedures.
    ·Hold an ATA / IMI accreditation in Vehicle Damage Assessment and proficient in estimating systems such as Audatex / GT Global, with strong IT and system skills.  
    ·Experience using recognised estimating software.
    ·Excellent organisational and communication skills.
    ·A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality.
    ·The ability to work effectively with technicians, insurers and customers.
    ·A full UK driving licence.
