How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    VEHICLE TECHNICIAN
    Location: Plymouth
    Basic Salary: Up to £34,000 Depending on Experience
    OTE: £40,000
    Hours: 42.5 Hours per Week - Monday - Friday & Saturday Mornings on a Rota

    The Role
    As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing customer vehicles to manufacturer standards whilst delivering exceptional levels of customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities include:
    ·Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs
    ·Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
    ·Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional work
    ·Carrying out repairs efficiently to achieve first-time fixes
    ·Following manufacturer and Health & Safety procedures
    ·Maintaining workshop equipment and ensuring a safe working environment
    ·Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team culture
    ·Communicating with customers where required to assist with technical explanations
    ·Ensuring every vehicle is treated with the highest level of care

    About You
    ·NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
    ·Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician or Service Technician
    ·Strong technical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills
    ·Own tools and toolbox
    ·Full UK Manual Driving Licence
    ·MOT Tester qualification advantageous but not essential
