How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Freelance Site Engineer

    📍 Didcot
    💼 Freelance (Ltd or CIS)

    We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a major commercial construction project in Didcot.

    Working for a well-established main contractor, you'll play a key role in the delivery of a large-scale commercial development, supporting the site team throughout the construction programme. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-quality project with a long-term programme, offering 28 weeks of secured work.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Setting out works using Leica or Trimble surveying equipment.
    • Carrying out surveying and site measurements to ensure works are delivered accurately.
    • Managing QA documentation, inspection records and associated paperwork.
    • Producing and maintaining accurate as-built information.
    • Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
    • Liaising with Site Managers, subcontractors and design teams to resolve technical queries.
    • Monitoring quality standards and ensuring compliance throughout construction.
    • Assisting with the coordination and sequencing of daily site activities.
    • Supporting the safe and efficient delivery of the project.

    Requirements

    • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on commercial building projects.
    • Experience working for a main contractor is essential.
    • Competent using Leica or Trimble surveying equipment.
    • Strong understanding of QA procedures and as-built documentation.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
    • CSCS Card.
    • SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
    • Full UK Driving Licence.
