How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Chiller Service Engineer
    West Midlands
    £45,000 - £50,000 Basic (Can go to £55,000 DOE) + Door-to-Door Travel + Overtime + Bonus Scheme

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chiller Service Engineer to join a leading specialist in industrial cooling and temperature control solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Chiller Service Engineer or a skilled Refrigeration Engineer looking to specialise in chillers, with full manufacturer training available on a wide range of equipment.

The company is recognised as one of the UK's leading providers of industrial cooling, process cooling and temperature control solutions, supporting customers across manufacturing, food production, pharmaceuticals, data centres and other critical industries. They pride themselves on delivering high levels of customer service while investing heavily in the development of their engineering team.
As a Chiller Service Engineer, you'll cover the West Midlands, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repairs on water chillers and process cooling equipment. The role offers plenty of variety, working across a diverse customer base with modern equipment and excellent support from a highly experienced technical team.

    The Role

Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs on water chillers and cooling equipment.
Diagnose refrigeration, electrical and control system faults.
Complete servicing, commissioning support and breakdown repairs.
Produce detailed service reports and identify opportunities for remedial works.
Build strong customer relationships through a professional and proactive approach.
Cover a regional patch, with the majority of work within approximately two hours of home.
Optional working away available on larger projects, with additional payments.
    Experience & Qualifications
We're keen to speak with experienced Chiller Service Engineers, but we'd also like to hear from Refrigeration Engineers with strong commercial or supermarket refrigeration experience who are looking to move into specialist chiller work.

To be considered you'll ideally have:

Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering background.
NVQ Level 2 (or above) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent.
    F-Gas (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent).
Experience working on commercial refrigeration, supermarket refrigeration, process cooling equipment or water chillers.
Hydrocarbon experience would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
This role is particularly well suited to a Commercial Refrigeration Engineer looking to broaden their skillset or an experienced Chiller Engineer looking to join a business that genuinely invests in its people.

    What's on Offer

Basic salary of £45,000 - £50,000, with up to £55,000 available for highly experienced engineers.
    Door-to-door travel paid.
45-hour working week with a PAID lunch break
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
Option to purchase up to 5 additional days' holiday each year.
    1 in 8 on-call rota with a £150 standby payment.
    Overtime paid at:
    1.5x before 8am (weekdays)
    2x midnight to 6am (weekdays)
    2x all weekend.
Unlimited service recommendation bonus scheme of customer-approved recommendations. Many engineers earning a substantial amount monthly.
£100 overnight allowance when staying away.
Ongoing manufacturer training and career development.
    Smartphone and laptop.
High-spec company van (Transit custom) with fuel card and private use.
If you're a Chiller Service Engineer looking for your next challenge, or a Refrigeration Engineer with experience in commercial or supermarket refrigeration wanting to move into specialist process cooling equipment, this is an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading employer offering excellent earning potential, genuine career progression and industry-leading training.
