How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Manager – Civil Engineering
    Wymondham, South Norfolk, NR18 0DS
    £28 per hour | Contract | Start date: 17 August 2026
    Working hours: 07:30–17:00

    The Role

    We are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a specialist civil engineering project in Wymondham.

    The project involves deep excavation works, the installation of temporary shoring systems, including boxes and sheet-and-frame equipment, and the installation of ductile iron push-fit and flanged pipework.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily site operations, maintaining high safety standards and ensuring the works are completed efficiently and in line with the project programme.

    Responsibilities

    * Manage and coordinate daily site activities

    * Supervise deep excavation and shoring works

    * Oversee the installation of ductile iron pipework

    * Coordinate site operatives, subcontractors and deliveries

    * Ensure temporary works procedures are followed

    * Maintain health and safety standards across the site

    * Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks and inductions

    * Monitor progress against the construction programme

    * Complete site records, permits and daily reports

    * Liaise with the project team regarding progress and site issues

    Requirements

    * Valid Black CSCS Card

    * Temporary Works Supervisor qualification

    * Valid three-day First Aid at Work certificate

    * Previous Site Manager experience within civil engineering or utilities

    * Strong experience of deep excavations and temporary shoring systems

    * Knowledge of ductile iron push-fit and flanged pipework

    * Good understanding of construction health and safety requirements

    * Strong communication and site coordination skills

    * @One Passport to Work is desirable
