How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Management Accountant

    Stoke-on-Trent

    Hours : Monday to Friday : 8:00 am - 5:30pm
    Salary:Up to £60,000 per annum

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing and well-established business based in Stoke-on-Trent. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting business growth while gaining broad exposure across the finance function.

    This position is ideal for a proactive finance professional looking to develop their skills, take on increased responsibility and become a trusted member of a close-knit finance team. The role offers genuine opportunities for career progression within a stable and expanding organisation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger functions
    Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
    Support the budgeting and forecasting process
    Post journals, including accruals and prepayments
    Contribute to month-end close activities and financial reporting
    Support stock control processes and perform stock reconciliations
    Identify and implement finance process improvements
    Assist with ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives
    Work closely with the Financial Controller to support strategic and operational finance activities
    Skills & Experience Required

    Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant
    Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
    Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes
    Experience posting journals, accruals and prepayments
    Sage accounting software experience is essential
    Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and financial reporting
    Ability to analyse financial data and provide meaningful business insights
    Experience within a stock-led or inventory-based environment would be advantageous
    Highly organised, proactive and capable of working independently
    Strong communication skills and a desire to develop within a growing business
