How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a hands-on, production-focused opportunity within an Operations Engineering team supporting complex, mission-critical products throughout their lifecycle—from prototype builds and product development through to full production and end-of-life support. Acting as a key engineering contact for the shop floor, you will resolve manufacturing issues, reduce production downtime and help ensure delivery remains aligned with demanding build schedules.

    The Opportunity

You will work closely with Production, Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering teams to investigate problems at source and coordinate effective solutions. The role combines real-time shop-floor support with SAP manufacturing data management, production analysis and continuous improvement.

It would suit a practical Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys solving problems, working directly with production teams and turning operational data into measurable improvements.

    Key Responsibilities
Act as a first point of engineering contact for production and shop-floor issues.
Respond to Andon alerts, resolving problems promptly or escalating them to minimise downtime.
Investigate manufacturing issues and coordinate appropriate containment and corrective actions.
Provide clear technical advice and practical engineering support to production teams.
Gather and analyse production-stoppage data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
Contribute to Mission Directed Work Team Level 1 and Level 2 meetings.
Create and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials and production routings within SAP.
Create and manage product demand and Manufacturing Queries in SAP.
Support the introduction of new manufacturing processes, equipment and capabilities.
Help improve manufacturing performance, process reliability and adherence to production schedules.
Support products across the complete lifecycle, including prototype, development, engineering build and full production.About You:

    You will ideally have:
Previous experience supporting manufacturing or production operations in a shop-floor environment.
A proven ability to investigate and resolve issues raised during production.
A good understanding of ERP systems, ideally SAP.
Experience creating or maintaining Manufacturing Bills of Materials and routings.
The ability to collate, interpret and present data to support engineering decisions.
A collaborative, solutions-focused approach to working across operational teams.
A genuine passion for continuous improvement and reducing manufacturing disruption.
Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.Experience within one or more of the following areas would be particularly beneficial:
    Mechanical or electromechanical assembly
    Electrical harness manufacture
    Complex, low-volume manufacturing
Aerospace, defence or another highly regulated engineering environmentWhat’s on Offer
A permanent position supporting advanced defence engineering programmes.
An excellent four-day working week, Monday to Thursday.
Flexible working arrangements where operationally appropriate.
The opportunity to influence manufacturing performance directly from the shop floor.
Exposure to the full product lifecycle and complex engineering programmes.
Competitive salary, benefits and long-term career development opportunities.Security Requirements

Applicants must be eligible to satisfy BPSS requirements before starting and must also be able to obtain and maintain UK Security Check clearance. Due to the nature of the work, security-clearance restrictions may apply. Further guidance will be provided during the recruitment process.
