How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A leading satellite communications organisation is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join its Access Networks engineering team, supporting the design, integration, and deployment of next-generation satellite communications systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of advanced 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), working across cutting-edge satellite programmes and helping deliver innovative connectivity solutions. You will contribute throughout the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and architecture through integration, testing, and operational deployment.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will collaborate with systems, software, network, and operations teams while acting as a technical authority across complex communications programmes.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead systems engineering activities for Radio Access Network (RAN) and Access Network subsystems.
Develop and manage system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation.
Support the design, integration, validation, and deployment of advanced satellite ground segment capabilities.
Design and validate 5G NTN Layer 2 and Layer 3 features in line with 3GPP standards.
Lead simulation and modelling activities to evaluate system performance and inform engineering decisions.
Develop test methodologies, tools, and validation campaigns for new network capabilities.
Support the deployment of laboratory and test infrastructure for next-generation communications systems.
Collaborate with software, systems, operations, and programme teams to successfully introduce new services.
Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges across multiple engineering disciplines.
Contribute to future radio resource management strategies to maximise network performance and efficiency.
Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies, helping shape future system architecture and technology roadmaps.
Provide technical leadership during integration, testing, and service introduction activities.
    Required Experience & Qualifications

Degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Satellite Communications, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
Strong systems engineering experience within telecommunications or satellite communications environments.
Knowledge of Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies.
    Understanding of:
    5G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN)
    Satellite propagation
    Modulation and coding
    Mobile satellite and VSAT systems
Experience developing system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation.
    Desirable Experience

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

    3GPP 5G standards
    Satellite ground segment systems
Terrestrial mobile network design and operation
    Radio resource management
RF systems and antenna technologies (Ka, L or Q/V Band)
Performance modelling, simulation, and data analysis
Large-scale telecommunications or satellite network integration programmes
    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to work on some of the most advanced satellite communications programmes currently in development, helping deliver next-generation global connectivity solutions.

You'll join a highly collaborative engineering environment where you'll influence system architecture, contribute to innovative technologies, and work across the full lifecycle of complex satellite communications systems.

    Benefits

    Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
    Pension scheme and private healthcare.
    Professional development and training opportunities.
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite and 5G NTN technologies.
Collaborative engineering culture with exposure to complex international programmes.
