How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Chiller Engineer

    Location: Southampton & Surrounding Areas (Mobile Role)

    Salary: £45,000 (Flexible for the Right Candidate) + Door-to-Door Travel + Overtime

    An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Chiller Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer with an excellent reputation for investing in its engineers.

    Covering Southampton and the surrounding region, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of industrial water chillers across commercial and industrial sites.

    This is a varied, field-based role offering ongoing manufacturer training, excellent support and genuine opportunities for long-term career progression.

    The Role

    Service, maintenance and repair of industrial water chillers
    Planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown response
    Fault finding, diagnostics and system repairs
    Delivering a high standard of customer service
    Covering commercial and industrial sites throughout Southampton and the surrounding areas

    Requirements

    Time-served apprenticeship
    NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning
    F-Gas (C&G 2079) or equivalent CITB Refrigerant Handling certification
    Approved manufacturer or recognised industry training
    Full UK Driving Licence
    Previous experience working on industrial water chillers

    Package

    £45,000 basic salary (flexible for the right candidate)
    Door-to-door travel paid
    42.5-hour working week
    1 in 6 call-out rota
    Overtime paid at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and double time on Sundays and Bank Holidays
    33 days annual leave including Bank Holidays
    Company van with private use
