How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    NEW CNC SETTER OPERATOR JOB BASED IN WHITSTABLE, KENT.

    A leading manufacturer of a range of interconnect applications for the military and aerospace industries, they are searching for a CNC Setter Operator to join their dynamic team based in Canterbury, Kent.

    As a CNC Setter Operator you will be responsible for setting and operating lathes to produce small to medium sized batches of components. Additionally you will be overseeing the daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of the machines and reporting any concerns or issues to the machine shop supervisor. This is a part-time position working a 16 hour week on a weekly rotating shift of (Apply online only) & (Apply online only).

    Duties as a CNC Setter Operator in Whitstable, Kent.

    * Inspect work according to engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and report any quality defects.

    * Set up and operate CNC lathes.

    * Perform deburring, cleaning, final inspection and completion of all traceability documentation.

    * Optimize efficiencies by reducing set-up and cycle times, as well as monitoring tool life.

    Requirements as a CNC Setter Operator in Whitstable, Kent.

    * GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.

    * Experience operating CNC machine tools, particularly CNC lathes with a minimum of 4 axis.

    * Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and use measurement equipment for inspection.

    * Strong attention to detail, accuracy and safety consciousness.

    Desirables as a CNC Setter Operator in Whitstable, Kent.

    * Knowledge of working to AS9100 aerospace quality standards.

    * Knowledge of operating twin spindle machines.
