How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Make Every Moment Matter

Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming specialist SEN school in Hemel Hempstead, seeking a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teacher to join their team from September.

This rewarding opportunity involves teaching pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), alongside pupils with Autism (ASC/ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), complex medical needs and physical disabilities. Every learner follows a highly personalised curriculum designed to develop communication, independence, sensory engagement and life skills.

This is an ideal opportunity for a teacher who believes that success is measured through meaningful progress, no matter how small, and who is passionate about providing every child with the opportunity to thrive.

    The Role

As a PMLD Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver highly personalised, sensory-based lessons tailored to each pupil's EHCP.

Support pupils with PMLD, Autism, SLD and complex medical or physical needs.

Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

Use sensory learning approaches, intensive interaction, visual communication and assistive technology to engage pupils.

Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, healthcare professionals and families.

Promote communication, independence, emotional wellbeing and life skills.

Monitor and celebrate individual progress through meaningful outcomes.

Support pupils with personal care where required, alongside experienced support staff.

    About You

    We're looking for someone who:

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Has experience working within a specialist SEN or PMLD setting, or a strong interest in developing within this area.

Has knowledge of Autism (ASC/ASD), PMLD, SLD and complex learning needs.

Is patient, caring and resilient with a child-centred approach.

Can adapt teaching to meet a wide range of physical, sensory and communication needs.

Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Is committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for pupils with additional needs.

    Why Join This School?

✨ Specialist PMLD provision with excellent facilities and sensory spaces.
✨ Small class sizes with outstanding staff-to-pupil ratios.
✨ Supportive and experienced leadership team.
✨ Close collaboration with speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
✨ Ongoing CPD and specialist SEND training.
✨ A welcoming school community where every achievement is celebrated.
✨ Paid to Scale (MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance where applicable).

    What We Offer

    Competitive Paid to Scale salary.

Long-term opportunity with potential for a permanent contract.

Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.

Access to SEND-focused CPD and training.

    Pension contributions.

    Refer-a-friend bonus scheme.

    Apply Today

If you're passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, we'd love to hear from you.
