The Role
Middlesbrough College is seeking a skilled and motivated Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our Construction department. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong industry experience and a passion for education to inspire and develop the next generation of electricians through high-quality teaching. In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of electrical installation programmes, support student progress and achievement, and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum. You will also play a key part in maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment in line with college expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of all students.
* Employ a variety of teaching techniques and resources consistent with best practices, specific content knowledge, the physical limitations of the space provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
* Plan and deliver a suitable Assessment Programme ensuring marked work meets Middlesbrough College Standards.
* Utilise diagnostic assessment tools to identify learning strengths and needs of every student, on a regular basis, for the purpose of intervention and/or acceleration toward academic achievement.
* Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by Middlesbrough College and any statutory regulators including but not limited to Awarding Bodies, Funding Bodies and / or Government Departments.
Qualifications
* Must be a qualified teacher or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification
* Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.
* GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, or an equivalent qualification.
* Possess Assessor Level 3 and Verifier Level 4 qualifications or demonstrate a willingness to work towards obtaining them.
Experience
* Current knowledge and/or experience of teaching Electrical Installation is desirable
* Awareness of potential issues within the sector that could affect curriculum delivery
* Understanding and/or experience of career opportunities within the sector for learners aged 16–18 and 19+.
Knowledge & Skill
* Proven ability to effectively disseminate good practice.
* Competence in addressing and managing inappropriate behaviour in the classroom promptly and effectively.
* Outstanding time management skills.
* Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
