How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Tendering Engineer

    Nottingham

    £40,000 to £55,000 + £1,000 to £5,000 Fixed Bonus + Excellent Benefits

    Are you an experienced Tendering Engineer looking to join a growing business where you'll play a key role in securing major engineering projects?

    Do you enjoy preparing winning bids, working with technical teams, and building a long term career within the utilities and energy sector?

    Our client is a well established engineering business delivering innovative solutions across the utilities and energy industry. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Tendering Engineer to support the sales team with the preparation and delivery of high quality bids for major projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to the full sales lifecycle while working alongside experienced technical and commercial professionals.

    As the Tendering Engineer, you will coordinate incoming enquiries, prepare technical tender submissions, review customer specifications and drawings, and work closely with internal stakeholders to produce compelling proposals. You will manage tender programmes, maintain bid documentation, organise stakeholder meetings, and ensure all submissions are completed accurately and within strict deadlines.

    The successful candidate will have previous experience within a Tendering, Estimating, Bid Management or Project Management role. Experience within the utilities or energy sector would be advantageous, although candidates with a strong technical background and a willingness to learn will also be considered.

    The Person

    Experience in Tendering, Estimating, Bid Management or Project Management
    Utilities or energy sector experience is desirable
    Strong organisational and administrative skills
    Excellent attention to detail
    Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and OutlookThe Role

    Coordinate incoming enquiries and tender opportunities
    Prepare technical bids and tender submissions
    Review customer specifications and technical drawings
    Liaise with internal teams throughout the bid process
