How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Lead Learning Support Assistant to join our Foundation Department at our Slough and Langley campus on a full time, term time only basis.

    Lead Learning Support Assistant

    This Lead Learning Support Assistant role involves working 37 hours per week over 38 term-time weeks per year. The role pays on Scale H of the Support Staff pay scale offering a pro-rata salary of H19 £23,274.31 up to H22 £25,580.07 (H19 £27,284 up to H22 £29,987 FTE).

    Lead Learning Support Assistants drive educational inclusion and support excellence across Windsor Forest Colleges Group, acting as pivotal figures in empowering both students and support staff to achieve their full potential. Reporting to the Head of Department or Programme Lead, this role combines direct academic facilitation with essential supervisory and instructional responsibilities. As a Lead LSA, you will take ownership of guiding fellow LSAs, shaping effective support strategies within lessons and community settings, and stepping up to lead planned classes in the lecturer’s absence, all while ensuring provision strictly aligns with individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

    Beyond direct student engagement, your duties will focus heavily on instructional leadership, strategy, and classroom management. You will work closely with tutors to plan, adapt, and evaluate learning activities, as well as handle key daily administrative tasks such as registers, student profiles, and performance reporting. The role requires taking full responsibility for managing specialist 1:1 learning equipment, assisting with internal specialist appointments (such as Speech and Language Therapy), and supporting students with assignments, exam preparation, and core English, mathematics, and ICT skills. Additionally, you will work with pastoral teams to help students overcome physical, emotional, or learning boundaries, including meeting physical support demands for mobility-impaired learners.

    To be considered for this post, candidates must demonstrate strong professional initiative, accountability, and proven experience supporting individuals with a wide range of SEND needs (such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, PMLD, and SLD) in an educational environment. Essential qualifications include Level 2 qualifications (GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent) in English, Mathematics, and ICT. Applicants must display exceptional organizational skills, a deep commitment to inclusive practice and neurodivergent perspectives.
