How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The practice has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality listed building conversions alongside bespoke new-build residential developments, with around 100 projects undertaken each year.

Joining a close-knit architectural team of approximately 10 professionals, the successful Part II Architectural Assistant will play a key role in the early design and planning stages of a diverse range of residential schemes. The role offers excellent exposure to planning, heritage conservation, residential design and collaboration with local authorities and communities.

Assist in developing concept designs, feasibility studies and planning proposals across a range of residential developments.
Produce planning drawings including plans, elevations and sections for planning submissions.
Prepare supporting planning documentation including Design & Access Statements, presentation material and visualisations.
Contribute to projects across RIBA Stages 0-4, supporting the progression from concept through to planning approval.
Coordinate with internal Technical, Commercial, Sales and Construction teams throughout the design process.
Undertake site surveys and regular site visits.
Attend meetings with local authorities, consultants and senior stakeholders.
Support public consultation events and assist in presenting proposed developments.
Maintain organised project documentation and drawing records.

Good knowledge using either AutoCAD or Revit
Strong design and presentation skills supported by a high-quality portfolio
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
Previous experience working on residential projects would be beneficial
Experience with listed buildings or heritage projects would also be advantageous
Full UK Driving Licence and own transport preferred due to site visits
