How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the role

    We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking ICT Technical & Infrastructure Manager to lead the delivery, development and security of the Council's ICT infrastructure and technical support services. 

    Key responsibilities include:  

    Leading the development, security, and resilience of ICT infrastructure, systems, telephony, and technical services.  
    Managing and developing the Service Desk and Technical Support teams to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services.  
    Ensuring core Infrastructure systems are available, secure and aligned to business needs.  
    Managing ICT contracts, suppliers, procurement, budgets, and resources to deliver value for money.  
    Supporting the delivery of the Council’s ICT and Digital Strategy, including technical roadmaps and service improvements.  
    Maintaining strong cyber security, compliance, backup, disaster recovery, and operational risk arrangements.  
     
    About you

    We are seeking a confident ICT leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering secure, modern and reliable services.  

    You will have:   

    A degree-level qualification, preferably in IT, or equivalent professional experience.  
    Significant experience managing ICT infrastructure, technical operations, and service delivery.  
    Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, servers, networking, storage, and ICT architecture.  
    Good knowledge of cyber security, data protection, compliance, and operational resilience.  
    Experience leading teams, managing suppliers, budgets and technology projects.  
    A customer-focused, collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
