Are you a Design Manager looking for a fresh challenge with a respected main contractor delivering high-quality education projects? Based on a programme of school projects across Cumbria, this Design Manager position is ideal for candidates living across Manchester, Liverpool, Lancashire and the wider North West who are happy to work away during the week. Full accommodation and subsistence are provided, removing the need to relocate. Previous experience working on schools or education projects is not essential. If you have a strong background as a Design Manager within a main contracting environment, we'd like to hear from you.
As Design Manager, you will take ownership of the design process from pre-construction through to project completion. Working closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients, you will ensure designs are coordinated, compliant, buildable and delivered in line with programme requirements. You'll identify and resolve design issues, manage design risk and play a key role in delivering successful projects that make a lasting impact on local communities.

Responsibilities
Manage the design process throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate consultants, architects and specialist subcontractors.
Review technical information to ensure buildability and compliance.
Chair and lead design team meetings.
Resolve design queries and mitigate project risks.
Work closely with operational teams to achieve programme milestones.
Ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety.
