The role & about the client:
ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a successful and well-established contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality residential and commercial construction projects, including care home developments. This contractor partners with private developers, housing associations, local authorities, and commercial clients. They are now seeking an experienced and hands-on Site Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong track record in construction, playing a key role in overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring quality, safety, and programme are maintained throughout each project.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage all on-site operations, taking full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the project
Oversee subcontractors and labour, ensuring works are delivered to programme
Ensure works are carried out safely and in compliance with health & safety regulations
Monitor and maintain quality standards, snagging and resolving issues as they arise
Coordinate deliveries, plant, and site logistics
Liaise with the project manager, design team, and client on progress and any issues
Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety briefings
Manage site documentation, including RAMS, permits, and daily/weekly reports
Chair and attend site meetings, reporting progress against programme
Mentor and support junior site staff, including assistant site managers and trainees
Ensure site is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation The ideal candidate will have/be:
Significant previous experience in a Site Manager role, with a proven track record delivering residential and/or commercial projects
Experience delivering care home developments is essential
Strong background managing multiple work fronts and larger-scale schemes
Excellent understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice
SMSTS and CSCS card (essential)
First Aid at Work certificate (essential)
Confident reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and programmes
Strong leadership and communication skills, able to manage subcontractors and site teams
Highly organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously
Competent IT skills (emails, document management systems, and reporting tools)
A full UK driving licence (essential) How to apply:
