The role & about the client:
ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a successful and well-established contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial construction projects. This contractor specialises in commercial builds and fit-out schemes, partnering with private clients, developers, and public sector bodies. They are now seeking an experienced and detail-focused Estimator to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong commercial estimating experience, playing a key role in securing new work and ensuring accurate, competitive tender submissions.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects
Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope and risk
Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
Prepare detailed take-offs and measure works from drawings
Compile and submit tender returns within required deadlines
Liaise with clients, consultants, and the design team during the tender process
Attend pre-tender and post-tender interviews as required
Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender packages
Support the handover of successful bids to the operational and commercial teams
Maintain accurate records of pricing, subcontractor rates, and market trends The ideal candidate will have/be:
Previous experience in an Estimator or Senior Estimator role
Strong background in commercial construction (new-build, fit-out, or refurbishment)
Excellent understanding of measurement, procurement, and construction methods
Confident interpreting drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with high attention to detail
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
Competent IT skills (Excel, estimating software, and document management systems)
A full UK driving licence (essential) How to apply:
