How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Strip down, rebuild, and recondition CNC machines and mechanical assemblies

    * Carry out mechanical installation and build of bespoke automation systems from engineering drawings and specifications

    * Level and align machines and mechanical assemblies to manufacturer/design tolerances using precision measuring equipment

    * Fit and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant, and lubrication systems

    * Install conveyors, actuators, linear guides, gearboxes, and other mechanical automation components

    * Rig and move machinery safely within the workshop using cranes, forklifts, skates, and rollers

    * Read and interpret mechanical drawings, GA drawings, and technical/service manuals

    * Liaise with the controls/electrical team to coordinate repairs and hand over completed builds ready for integration and commissioning

    * Complete service reports, build documentation, and quality records accurately

    * Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment

    * Work safely in line with health & safety regulations, including lifting operations (LOLER) and manual handling

    Essential Skills & Experience

    * Proven experience as a CNC Mechanical Engineer, CNC Fitter, or Mechanical Service Engineer, with hands-on experience repairing CNC machine tools

    * Strong mechanical fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair skills

    * Experience with spindle repairs, ball screw replacement, and general CNC mechanical overhaul

    * Ability to read and interpret mechanical/engineering drawings and service manuals

    * Comfortable working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication systems

    * Understanding of rigging, lifting, and safe manual handling practices

    * Good communication skills, with the ability to work closely with the controls/electrical team

    Desirable Skills & Experience

    * Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

    * Experience with specific CNC machine tool brands (e.g. Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori, Doosan)

    * Experience building or maintaining bespoke automation systems or special-purpose machinery

    * Overhead crane / slinger-signaller / forklift qualifications
