HR Advisor (Temporary)

Location: Letchworth Garden City (Hybrid – 1-2 days in the office)
Job Type: Temporary (2-3 months)
Hours: Part-time or Full-time considered

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Advisor to join a busy and supportive HR team on a temporary basis for approximately 2-3 months.

This role is ideal for an HR professional with strong employee relations experience who enjoys partnering with managers to deliver practical, proactive HR support. The successful candidate must be available to start at short notice and be able to attend the office in Letchworth Garden City 1-2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.

* Support managers with employee relations matters including misconduct, capability, performance management and absence management.

* Advise managers throughout the recruitment process, including job profiling, advertising vacancies and selection methods.

* Build effective relationships with managers, providing proactive support on workforce planning, recruitment and learning and development.

* Attend management meetings and contribute HR expertise to organisational projects and initiatives.

* Work collaboratively with employee representatives and trade unions where appropriate.

* Support managers in managing both short and long-term absence, including Occupational Health referrals.

* Coach and develop managers to ensure consistent application of HR policies and best practice.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Previous experience in a generalist HR Advisor position.

* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.

* Experience advising managers on employee relations matters including misconduct, capability, absence management and performance.

* Experience supporting recruitment and selection activities.

* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

* The ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.

* Availability to start at short notice.
