How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Office Manager to join one of Europe's leading specialist engineering and construction contractors, delivering complex, mission-critical projects across the UK and Europe.

The business has established an excellent reputation for delivering technically challenging schemes across sectors including data centres, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, energy and critical infrastructure. With continued expansion and a strong pipeline of projects, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive contractor offering long term career development and stability.

This position is based on a major Battery Energy Storage System project in Blyth. The project will play a key role in supporting the UK's energy infrastructure, providing large scale battery storage to improve grid resilience and support the country's transition to renewable energy.

    The Role

As Office Manager, you will play a vital role in the day to day running of the project office, ensuring administrative processes are managed efficiently while supporting the wider project team. This is a varied position that would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment and takes pride in keeping everything organised.

Reporting to the Project Management team, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of the site office, supporting project delivery through effective administration, coordination and organisation.

Previous experience on data centre or energy projects is not essential. We welcome applications from Office Managers with construction experience across any sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage the day-to-day running of the project office.

    * Provide administrative support to the Project Manager and wider site team.

    * Coordinate office facilities, equipment and supplies.

    * Manage meeting room bookings and organise project meetings where required.

    * Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes and distribute actions.

    * Coordinate travel and accommodation for project personnel when required.

    * Maintain project records and office filing systems.

    * Assist with onboarding new employees and visitors to site.

    * Process purchase orders, invoices and general office administration.

    * Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and head office departments.

    * Support document control and ensure project documentation is maintained where required.

    * Coordinate site inductions and assist with compliance administration.

    * Ensure the office operates efficiently while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.

    Requirements

    * Previous experience as an Office Manager, Site Office Manager, Project Administrator or Senior Administrator within the construction industry.

    * Strong organisational and time management skills.

    * Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.

    * Confident using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

    * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy project environment.

    * Professional, proactive and able to work independently.

    * Experience supporting project teams on live construction sites would be advantageous.

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    * Opportunity to join a leading international construction contractor.

    * Long-term career prospects with a growing business.

    * Work on a landmark energy infrastructure project in the North East.

    * Collaborative and supportive working environment.

    * Opportunity to be part of technically complex, high-profile projects.
